Extrication Competition

Firefighting Team that Extricates Patients from Vehicles will Advance to World Competition Firefighters Work to Extricate a Simulated Patient During National Competition The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department recently competed on a national level with other fire rescue departments’ vehicle accident extrication teams. JFRD claimed the top award and will advance to the international competition in Paris in September.

A City of Jacksonville Disaster Registration Site has been approved and officially starts October 28 at the Bradham and Brooks Library location. This is a coordinated effort from the City of Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Public Library, FEMA, and the United Way of North East Florida. This event will provide disaster related assistance and registrations to the citizens of Jacksonville.

Grand Opening of Fire Station 73
July 16, 2019
In late June, JFRD Opened Fire Station 73 in the Cecil Commerce Center and broke ground on the site of Station 61 in Argyle/Oakleaf Elected Officials and JFRD's Interim Director/Fire Chief Keith Powers and Capt. Kenny Keene officially open Fire Station 73 on June 28.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department recently broke ground on Fire Station 61 and then opened Fire Station 73 three days later.
